Accused Rapist, Murderer had 'Personality Disorder'

According to published reports, a recently discharged soldier accused of rape and murder while stationed in Iraq was let go after only 11 months in the army because of a "personality disorder."

His discharge was reportedly unrelated to the criminal charges brought against him.

Why did it take the U.S. Army nearly a year to figure out one of its soldiers was not quite right? Are they so desperate for recruits that they overlook potential weaknesses? Do they not perform basic psychological testing to determine fitness for duty?

Obviously they don't or there would not be four different incidents involving the murder of Iraqi civilians currently under investigation.

The troops are stressed, military screening is dysfunctional, and there is obviously no planning at the top for ending this mess.

Stop the madness.
