Yes, Mike, This Country Is Insane

Mike Ferner, a Chicago-area veteran, writes about this horrific experience at Jesse Brown V.A. Medical Center on Chicago’s south side where he was arrested for wearing a Veterans For Peace shirt.

What have we let our country become? Why? Will we ever stir from our stupor and overthrow the criminals and fascists who have hijacked the United States?

Has so much damage already been done that it's too late?

We see some evidence that the American people are waking up, but the leaders of the Democratic Party have yet to fully understand, which leads us to believe that they approve and condone the stripping away of the protections which used to be guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

These so-called leaders are in on the crime, otherwise they would be doing something to break the stranglehold.

There are days when we feel impotent and believe there is no stopping the NeoCons, and their weak-willed Democratic enablers. Afterall, they have had more than five years to brainwash the masses.

But this is not one of those days.

We must all do our part to counteract the Rove Effect. Do not be afraid to talk with one another about how you really feel; the more we bring it up into the light, the less power it will have over the weak minded.

When you hear someone say we must stay the course, fight them over there, etc., laugh in their face and point out how ignorant they sound.

Encourage others to get out and vote the bastards out of office, Republican and Democrat alike.
